Two days at UWC in Maastricht

Today (April 13, 2012) is the last of two days at UWC in Maastricht. Two days of Skinning and Rope Skipping (or Jump Rope as the Americans and Canadians say).

Thursday started before 08:00 when the first kids arrived at the schoolyard and saw the Skinning-machines. Within three touches on the screen they added their name in the competition and started their 30 seconds of FUN. And before school started, 90 kids had entered already their sores to the online-database.
The first group to do the Rope Skipping clinic combined with the Skinning-machines was class Y1, followed by class JK. In the sunshine they had their music and fun; which attracted passing secundairy schoolkids as well as several people leaving the opposite hotel.
During the break again 60+ kids were active for 30 seconds on the machines, while others were Skippin' the Ropes they borrowed from the fence.
After the break class Y2 came out of the building and produced sweat.
But then the sun disappeared, and class Y3 had to be disappointed; because computers, touchscreens and rain don't combine very well.
At the end of the day 277 entries were added to the database; meaning that students, teachers and guests had their 30 minutes of competitive Skinning that day.

The next day, all Skinning and Jump Rope was in the gym.
Y2, Y5, Y4, SK and Y6 showed what they were capable of with the Ropes, as well as on the machines.
Sometimes with as much as 10 (!!) on one Skinning-zone, they tried to bring their 30-seconds-score to the highest Level. While the other ones were trying to untangle their Rope from around their leg.

At the end of the two days, everyone started their weekend with a good feeling. And left the Skinning-machines with 517 new entries, with the highest three scores of 294, 289 and 261.
And as Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "I'll be back!"...
